Thanks to all for a great year. Wondering what 2012 has in store for B.C. Fleecy? Here's a preview.

I was planning on laying low in January and getting caught up on various things. Stocking may be light this month, but I'll try to have some other fun stuff for you. Like.....

The first ever B.C. Fleecy Photo Contest! Let's see your sweeties in some B.C. Fleecies! I haven't decided how I am going to organize the contest yet - so stay tuned to Facebook. I'd be happy to have your suggestions. I definitely want to do more fan-appreciation giveaways this year.

Newborn Fitteds will finally be added to the regular stockings and available in customs. I received feedback from many of you over the entire course of this year and am happy with the finished design. Since our family does not plan on adding anymore newborns - I will get to continue adorable NB fluffiness vicariously through YOU!

My Hyena Cart Congo is planning a Valentine's Theme stocking for January 20th. Stay tuned. I haven't decided what to contribute.

I have some ideas for revising patterns so I may have some discounted tester opportunities opening up early in 2012.

The response from the Printed PUL Pockets was really positive. I only got a bit of both of the PUL prints. It's so much more expensive, I wasn't sure if I'd make a habit of it. But if you guys are digging it and don't mind the price increase, perhaps I'll look for some more.

About Pocket Diaper inserts..... I am out of microfiber and was thinking of discontinuing microfiber inserts. I just hate sewing MF! I'm not sure what I'm going to switch to. I do have some zorb laying around that I could substitute, but not much. Then I could switch to OBF, or NO INSERT (just the pocket shell at a lower price). You're input would be greatly appreciated. If you have infant prefolds laying around, those make good pocket inserts...FYI!

Finally.... anyone need some baby SHOES?????

This will be my first foray into an actual online shopping cart so I am excited to see how it enhances your shopping experience and helps me organize my orders & workload.

I am toying with several stocking ideas. I'd love some feedback from YOU. The Apple Orchard stocks the 3rd Friday of the month. I'll join them on October 21st. Here's what I'm thinking.... I plan to stock a few of each: PUL Covers, OS Bamboo Fitteds, & Wetbags. In addition, I will list a few custom spots. Each custom spot will be good for up to 3-4 items of your choice. Although the official stocking is once a month, I can add new items or additional custom slots as I have time. I still need to work out some kinks, particularly how to continue to serve my lovely local customers with local/cash pick ups. Don't worry, we'll figure it out.

I will open up a short customs list on Friday, 9/23/11, at NOON (EST). I'll take the first 10 items from the e-mails (or PMs from DS) I get, first-come-first-serve. Those items will be completed/shipped by October 7th and then I may not get to another stocking until late October.

I'm whittling down that last customs list and getting ready to open it again. After I update all the fabric choices, I'll let you know. I plan to send my sewing machines in for service during the second week of October so I plan to take on only about

10 more items

in the next round of customs so I can have them done & delivered by October 7th.

After that, I plan to change the way I stock items in order to help me organize my time better. Our oldest began preschool this month and that has added a new dynamic of scheduling to our family.

What's New? ....besides rising bamboo & cotton prices :( .......

I've revamped my wetbag line! I had so many requests for custom sizes, I've decided to just list new sizes and make it easier for everyone. My original 10 x 13 wetbag has been replaced by a 11 x 13 bag.... just a bit easier to stuff. The snap loop handles will all be sturdy grosgrain ribbon or matching fabric. The new sizes are:

$5 MINI - 8 x 10, great for mama cloth

$7 REGULAR - 11 x 13, will hold 4-5 diapers

$11 LARGE - 14 x 16, will hold 6-7 diapers

$15 PAIL LINER - approx. 33 x 24, will fit a 13 gallon trash can. Elastic or Drawstring top. ($3 for zipper closure)

I can make any bag into a wet/dry bag for $1 extra. "Dry" section will close with a snap. Stay tuned for pics!

Now some other news......
As hinted, I will be increasing the price of my OS Bamboo Fitteds to compensate for this year's steady increase in fabric prices. I will continue to offer the current price until June 30th. I am still thinking about what a fair price will be (for me and for you) and will post that ASAP. Another item that I am increasing will be the gusseted PUL Covers. They do require less material than some of my other items, but require a significantly longer list of steps to complete. I have to get better about valuing my time!

And.... some secret news!
Ok, its not news...it's just a teaser! I will be adding something VERY exciting to my product line very soon. (hint- it's not something I make but it is cloth diaper related.... I have to wait for my first shipment to arrive.) This product is not widely available in Kalamazoo so I hope my local families will appreciate it!

Mom to Mom Sale coming up! Days for Girls (& Discount Opportunity)

I plan on participating in the WKFR Mom to Mom Sale On Saturday May 7th. I hope to see you there. I have lots of colorful OS Pockets almost finished and hope to resume work on the Bamboo Fitteds, as my fabric should be arriving any day now! I'll also bring along some PUL Covers, Wetbags, and some clearance stuff.

I recently discovered a project called "Days for Girls". They provide kits of Mama Cloth to women & girls who would typically have to miss several days of school or work each month. Project Thrive's "Days for Girls" collects donations of Mama Cloth, Kit Bags, Liners, and more to aid women around the world. The items needed are fairly easy sewing projects and require the fabrics (such as PUL) that I have plenty of scraps of. However, one of their suggested fabrics is cotton FLANNEL. I know a lot of home sewers have flannel remnants coming out their ears - it's kind of a staple of sewing stashes! However, that is not my case. I don't use flannel for much, so I didn't have much of it to make up the liners. I completed my first donation last week - with fabric scraps that I had - but I would love to create MORE for them. Here's my request.....

BAMBOO FITTEDS ON HOLD: I've been making a lot of Bamboo Fitteds lately (FUN!) Consequently, I'm out of bamboo fleece.... that really absorbent fabric that gives these fitteds their super powers! I am now waiting for a new shipment, which may not arrive until April. I have all these cushy soakers ready to go into squishy new diapers in fun prints ASAP. Thanks for your patience. You are still welcome to submit orders, and I'll reserve a cut of the prints you want.

MOM to MOM SALE: WKFR is hosting another semi-anual mom2mom sale at the Kalamazoo Fairgrounds on Saturday May 7. There was such great turn out for the one in October, I plan to attend again.... if I have enough time to stock up!

FRIENDS OF WEST MICHIGAN MIDWIVES: FoMM is having a fundraising concert on Sunday, May 15th at "The Strutt" in Kalamazoo. BC Fleecy will be donating some cloth diapering items for the silent auction. Stay tuned for pictures of what it will be! Check their Facebook event page for more info.

My initial batch of NEWBORN FLUFF fitteds have sold out. I loved experimenting with those and will definitely add them to my permanent list of offerings. Cant wait to see pics of little ones in them!

I think I'll throw in a FAQ about ordering. You've noticed that I do not have a "shopping cart" feature on this site. As I have two busy little ones myself, I keep the diaper biz kind of low key and mostly deal locally. I take orders via e-mail. Items on the INSTOCK page are done and ready to pick-up or ship. If you're looking for something special - try the FABRIC CHOICES page to create a custom order. You can choose colors for your fabrics, snaps, and binding for any of the diapers or bags I have listed across the top of the page. (Pockets/AIOs, Covers, Wetbags, Fitteds).

So just e-mail me with your requests and I'll get back to you about how long it will take me to complete your order.

Shipping is always available for out-of-town customers. Based on your order, I can estimate your shipping costs. I can invoice you via PayPal and will ship upon receipt of payment.

Hello all!
Wow - I have several orders in progress right now. I won't be able to take anymore customs for a while. You can always put in your requests... but I probably won't be able to begin any new projects until late February. Need to finish up many pending orders and fit in a vacation mid-February
(hmmmm.....Wish I could take the sewing machine sailing!!!!!)

Awwwww! Newborn Fluff!

DH's Christmas present to me is turning into My New Years gift to YOU!!!!
I can finally mark SERGER off my wish list. (It's a type of sewing machine that does wonderful stuff, particularly edging, in case you wondered). I am excited to begin using it on lots of diaper projects. It will sure make my inserts come together a lot easier - but instead of practicing on boring inserts, I have been playing with my machine by creating some teeny weeny newborn fitteds. OH MY they are cute! BUT- as they are my test pieces - am am offering some great "seconds" deals on them. I hate to call them seconds.... they're really FIRSTs (lol), as in, my first attempts on the serger! They are truly adorable. But I do admit there are some cosmetic flaws in the stitching. Trust me your newborn will not notice!

There are still a few cute covers listed there. Due to an unfortunate fabric quality issue some of the pocket diapers have been clearanced as "seconds". My apologies and thanks to all the mamas who were affected by this problem and allowed me to work out a solution. I will regroup with some new fabric and get going again in December!

First Mom to Mom Sale a Success!

Thank you to all the families that visited me at the WKFR Mom to Mom Sale. It was really fun to talk to lots of parents about cloth diapering. I hope all the new BC Fleecy owners like their items! I look forward to hearing all your comments and reviews. I am always curious to know what works best and how I can improve my diapers.

Many of you inquired about ordering. Yes - I can take orders, but bear in mind that I have 2 little ones that keep me very busy so sewing time is limited. I still consider myself a "SAHM with a hobby" rather than a "WAHM"! Recently my girls' nap times have been drifting apart! So that cuts down on my free time.

Seeing as how the Mom2mom forum worked well for me I may try to stock up for those types of events in the future.
