Wool Soakers

I've been thinking about what to do with my woolie line - I don't totally want to discontinue it, because I do like making them.  BUT - it is not something I've been focusing on lately.  I don't shop for wool much and do not have much on hand to make up new soakers.  PLUS - I have discovered it is usually best to get baby's measurements - and do more of a custom size based around my existing patterns..... that way skinny babies wont be left with gaping leg holes & such!  So I may discontinue stocking them and just do customs.

I have a FEW pieces of wool that I can work with - but I am also happy to upcycle a sweater that you provide if you have one.  In that case, you can take $1 off your order. I always go for 100% wool... but have known others to go as low as 80% blends.  Remember the last Saturday of the month is always 50% off at Goodwill and the Salvation Army regularly has 99 Cent days. It is hard to find anything during the summer months.

I also always refer people to http://chickadeeandme.com/
She is near Grand Rapids and has an ETSY shop.  I have never purchased any of her soakers... but I think they are ADORABLE!  You might check her out.

BELOW are pieces large enough to do a XS, Small or Medium Soaker:
Rusty Red                                              Blue Vines
Ice Blue Cables (very thick)                   Grey Orange Argyle

BELOW are pieces large enough to do XS, Small, Medium, or Large Soakers:
Oatmeal                           Moss (greenish grey)
Camel                             RED                          Grey/Black Stripes

How to Measure:

r = RISE
With your child's diaper ON (fitted or secured prefold), measure from the top of the back to the top of the front (through the legs). The waistband of the cover was not included in the above measurements, thus should extend beyond the fitted diaper.

w = WAIST
Measure baby's waist just above the fitted diaper.

THIGH
Measure around baby's thigh at the point it comes out of the fitted diaper.

NB r-13, w-11.5"-13.5",
thigh-5"-7"

Small r-15", w-13"-15",
thigh-7"-8"

Medium r-17", w-15"-17",
thigh-9"-10"

Large r-19", w-17"-19",
thigh-10"-11"

XLarge r-20.5", w-19"-
20.5", thigh-11"-13"
